I had
been a "christian" almost my entire life, but only began trying to live
my life for God for about a year. However, I longed for a deeper
intimacy with the Lord, but was not finding it. Matamoros literally
rocked my world and flipped it upside down. Times of worship and debrief
healed pain in my heart that I had been carrying around for too long,
pain that I didn't even fully understand.

Through those times, I
began having a much more personal relationship with God. He became so
blindingly real to me and prevalent in my life. Ministry in the city and
colonias, and fellowship with the other AIM staff members became even
more meaningful. The support and encouragement of the people at the
Gateway guided me, making lasting impacts on my life. They became like a
family to me. I am so glad I decided to come to Matamoros; it changed
me from the inside out!!
