We have not visited the Youth Detention Center for ministry during the summer of 2008.
Dear James Dodds
Today I arrived at the detention and there were only 6 students. Most of the students had already left the YDC but there was one student in particular that I notice. He was wearing a necklace with an icon that appeared much like a demon/idol. I asked him if he believed in it and he responded, “My mother gave me this before entering so it would protect me.” I started to preach from Hebrews 11 and explained that faith in Christ was all he needed … not some idol! Shortly after, a few Americans showed up to play soccer and all the students rushed outside. I stayed in with my new friend and talked with him more. I asked him if he would like to accept Christ and praise God … He did!

Prayer request: To continue learning more about Jesus Christ, and to stop believing in the idol of death. Also, I pray he will be able to congregate in a real Christian church where he will be receiving the truth of Jesus Christ.
